Many of you know by now that we've been asking special prayer for a (17 year old) friend who had a serious head injury accident three weeks ago. Well, we went to see him today, but he's been pretty down and out, and his mom said that he hadn't smiled in a few days. :(
Tyler is an Ole Miss fan. We personally are Mississippi State fans. And we always have the usual friendly competition of whose team is better etc. Well who else should we meet walking through the halls of the hospital than Coach Hugh Freeze and the entire Ole Miss football team themselves!! (They were at the Children's section visiting some patients.) Daddy spoke to Coach Freeze and then we watched some of the players pile into an elevator. Right before the doors closed, I let out a loud "WOOF WOOF! GO DAWGS!" and enjoyed the looks of disbelief on their faces. (One guy couldn't help himself and burst out laughing.) Then on another elevator ride, we saw the doors open and the whole defensive line was about to come on. Just as fair warning, Daddy said "This elevator is full of bulldogs..." They all stopped and stared for one hideous moment until their "guide lady" said "Cmon guys, cmon". After riding in an elevator crammed with Ole Miss players, I turned to Daddy and said "Boy, have we got something to tell Tyler!" So we went to his room and talked to him for a minute. Then Daddy said "We just met the whole Ole Miss football team and do you know what Sarah did the whole time??" (Loud imitations of my lively team spirit interjected here). And you know what? Tyler smiled. :)
HAIL STATE!!!! :D

Thanks for commenting! :) Do you (y'all) have a blog?
ReplyDeleteHail State indeed! And hail Sarah! Girl, if I'm ever laid up in a hospital room my family better get you there ASAP. Keep making the rest of us smile!!!!!!! _Lana
ReplyDeleteI would be honored... :) But don't go making plans of being laid up in the hospital any time soon. (Actually, on second thought, you could probably go ahead and plan it. The way our plans fall through, there's no chance it would actually work!) haha! ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah. I cry everytime I read this. We are still praying for a "smile for Tyler" ,that God will restore movement back to the left side of his face. Vickie
ReplyDeleteAmen! I pray every day that the Lord will heal him completely if it's His will!
